KATINKA MOSSIN has lived together with her Greenland dogs since 1972. She uses the dogs for mushing, breeding and showing. She has participated in many long and medium distance races. For example: Finmarksløpet (1985, -86 and -87, 400 km), Polarhundløpet/ Hardangervidda Trail (Many times, 100 - 200 km), Femundløpet (1994, -98, 320 km) and Technical Trail (1998, 300 km).

In 1990 she was one of three participants in the all-female Nuliaq ski expedition, crossing the Greenland icecap with 16 sled-dogs ("nuliaq" means "woman" in greenlandic). Katinka was the dogkeeper and she bought the dogs in Greenland just before the expedition started. She also helped the Norwegian South Pole Expedition in 1990 by choosing the right dogs for the expedition. They used twelve of the Nuliaq dogs. Katinka arranged all matters relating to the dogs and their equipment and she followed the dogs to Chile before the they left for Antarctica.

In 2002 she helped Greenpeace with their expedition on the westcoast of Greenland, using 17 sled-dogs. Katinka was also on this expediton the dogkeeper. And she helped the norwegian Ringnes-Sverdrup Expedition (an expediton in Canada) with the dogs after this.
